Career Counselling and Guidance Centre has been introduced as a department in The Greenhills Public School to serve as an eye-opener to the various major career opportunities available to the youth of today at different stages of academic life. Researchers in Psychology claims that we normally live up to only 10 to 15 percent of our potential and that the drive for perfection is a trait exhibited spontaneously by only about 10 to 15 percent of people. Keeping this factor in mind, due emphasis is laid on personal counseling at our center to improve self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution techniques, positive reinforcement and goal setting, which enhances Personality Development and enables individuals to realize their full potential. A discussion on careers cannot be complete without a review of personality tests, group discussions, and interviews which have become an integral part of the selection procedure for professional courses and jobs. Keeping this in mind, all personality tests are being introduced to help the students grow holistically. The senior students are trained for competitive exams like IPCC, IIT-JEE and medical entrance exams through special coaching programs conducted by the members of the staff and the counselors. The Library has a sufficient number of volumes of reference books to help students to prepare for the above examinations.
